Content Strategy

Not all content vehicles are best suited for your needs. Should you use a online video to communicate positioning on your website? Like most things in life, it all depends on who you are and what you want to be.

Let’s take a look at a few of the most popular content vehicles.

  • Blogs – great for attracting new prospects to your website. Timely short articles (between 250 and 500 words) act as ‘fresh bait’ and help up your Google page ranking.
  • Tweets – 140 characters or less about your recent blog article, a comment about an event you attended, or a critique of relevant news can help attract new prospects.
  • Facebook fan pages – offer current clients a way of expressing their gratitude. They can also help to build a community around your product or service (and attract new clients or customers). Take the time and mine your friends, family, and connections and watch your client list grow.
  • Videos and YouTube Channels – especially effective for reaching a wide demographic – not just kids and teenagers. Are you targeting woman 21- 50 or men 18 – 40? Then this is where you may need to be. Offer useful content, avoid hard sells and scripted performances. (YouTube is the world’s 2nd largest search engine.)

Plan for the creation of that content:

  • how long will it take
  • who is most qualified to create it
  • how often it should be updated

[wptabtitle]Position[/wptabtitle]
[wptabcontent]
Many companies struggle with their marketing because they haven’t focused their positioning by identifying what kind of business they are. They ‘float’. As such, it undermines their marketing efforts because they are unclear about what they do best, usually because they fear losing potential business.

[wptabtitle]Specialize[/wptabtitle]

Specialization is generally the best approach to marketing. A focused position – leveraging your greatest assets – will ring true with your audience. And focused positioning makes content creation easier to implement.
